Q: Who is the test suitable for?

The test is suitable for anyone who needs a test for travel. This test is not suitable for anyone who has been in contact with someone known to have COVID-19 or anyone displaying symptoms of COVID-19. For the latest guidance on all symptoms, please click here. Please do not book or attend an appointment if anyone in your household or bubble has symptoms of COVID-19 within the last 10 days. If you do have symptoms please follow government guidance and arrange a free NHS test.

If you are travelling, please ensure that you book the right test for your destination or your airline, and at the appropriate time before your flight’s departure.

Q: Which test do I need to book?

If the test is an airline requirement then please refer to your airline’s guidance on which test to book.

If the test is dependant on the country you are visiting and the guidance that they provide, then you must check the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office website for the latest travel information. Please ensure that you have checked the timeframes required to get a test within, to meet the government requirements.

It is your responsibility to book the required test for your airline or destination and that you have all the necessary documentation and information before you travel.

Please ensure when booking your test that you allow enough time for the results to be returned to you before you travel.

Q: What tests do you offer?

Standard PCR Test is a nasal swab test that is considered to be WHO Gold Standard for detecting even the smallest amounts of virus. This test typically returns a result within 48 hours.

Rapid PCR Test is a nasal swab test that is considered to be WHO Gold Standard for detecting even the smallest amounts of virus. This rapid PCR test is manufactured in the UK and uses technology that streamlines the testing process, making it quicker and simpler whilst still being highly accurate and sensitive. This test typically returns a result within 4 hours.

Rapid Lateral Flow Antigen Test is a test that consists of a nasal swab and uses lateral flow technology, such as that used in home pregnancy testing. The test contains absorbent paper, which will change colour in the presence of COVID-19 antigens. It does not require testing in a laboratory, which means that results are available quickly. This test typically returns a result within 1 hour.

Q: Do you offer day 2 and day 8 arrivals tests?

Our tests are suitable for pre-departure only. We do not currently offer testing for arrivals either day 2 or day 8.

Q: How do I book a test?

Simply click on “Book appointment” for the test that you need, fill in the details and pay for the test. IMPORTANT: When booking, your name MUST be written exactly as it appears on your passport.

Once you have booked you will then be sent a confirmation email.

Occasionally a test may need to be re-run, we therefore strongly advise that you make a booking on the earliest possible date and time based on the requirements of your destination country or airline.

Q: Where is the Nuffield Health Covid-19 testing centre located?

The testing centre is conveniently located in the terminal just before Security on the First Floor. From the Check-In concourse simply follow the signs for Nuffield Health Covid-19 Testing.

Please note: This is a separate facility to the NHS Covid-19 testing centre, located in Silver Zone Car Park.

Q: Where is the best place to park?

A dedicated area for Nuffield Health customers has been created in Hampton by Hilton car park. Simply follow signs to the Hotel car park. When you arrive at the barrier take the car park ticket. The payment machine is also located in the car park for your return.

Q: How much is parking?

A discounted price has been arranged for Nuffield Health customers of £5 for up to 2 hours and £7 for up to 4 hours. This is only available in the Hampton by Hilton car park. Normal car park prices apply for all other car parks.
